The Girl on the Train is worth watching?
So Netflix is back with another example of a movie where the vast majority of its audience disagree with the critics. Intense, dark, thrilling, and intriguing, “The Girl on the Train” is fully capable of keeping you hooked and chilled, both at the same time.
The Girl on the Train is a 2021 Indian mystery thriller movie, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced under the banner of Reliance Entertainment. The Hindi directorial is based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel of the same name.

Parineeti Chopra as Mira Kapoor is a divorcee, an ex-lawyer, and an alcoholic. She is shown to be crushed by the pain of her broken marriage and by the fact that her ex-husband is now remarried. Every day she travels by train and finds pleasure in watching a perfect couple in her favourite house through the window of the train. She often wonders how it is possible for anybody to have such an ‘Instagrammable’ life – something which seems to be an illusion to her. Then comes the day when her imagination is shattered. She sees from the window of her train that the girl is hugging another man and this infuriates her. The next day we get to know that the girl (Aditi Rao) who was gazed at by Mira from the window of her train has gone missing. Involvement of the cops and investigation starts from here.

Parineeti’s interpretation and portrayal of Meera’s character were commendable indeed, as were Aditi, Avinash, and Kriti’s performances. The background music lacks the punch and does not contribute to the feel. The script is majorly different from the book as the climax has been changed which may disappoint some. There are flaws in terms of continuity and the building of the secondary characters. However, on the whole, the story flows well and keeps the viewers hooked. The way the complexities keep on amplifying towards the climax is awesome.
7/10 rated, this movie is now streaming on Netflix. Just 2 hours in length, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. A Filmyvibes highly recommended movie to watch now.
